Progressive House Music started to develop during the beginning of the 90's when main electronic music genres were breaking away from the standard formula of their origins and came up with new sub genres which offered the same frame in terms of main style but much more experimental and innovative. Genres like Progressive House music and Trance, which referred to as the main genres that went through this convert process, were now containing subgenres like Deep House, Psy Trance etc. The first turn occurred during 1991 when DJ's started to mix elements from different genres like House and Trance and by that, developed a sort of a new sound, built by mixed elements and melodies. The result was the roots of Progressive House music and Trance and some other fusions like Dream House that was the first Progressive sub genre from electronic music who reached mainstream popularity. Famous artists that contributed to this evolution were: Leftfield, Sasha, John Digweed, Robert Miles and more.
So where has grown House music
Toward the end of this decade, the minimalism was becoming more and more dominant in the electronic dance scenes and it kept It's characteristic till this days. The developing fusion between Progressive House music and Trance went more minimalistic and for 4-5 years it reached one of his peak points by being played by worldwide DJ's and featured many TV commercials.
Since then, many sub genres were emerging in the electronic dance scene. Techno started the play a big role in the combination between genres, bringing Tech House Music along side Electro to the mainstream.
Today Progressive House Music is referred to as one of the most popular genres in Electronic dance music and many of the worlds biggest DJ's and artists are producing in this style, keeping the original atmosphere from the early days together with modern sound production
